Fix Microsoft Office Showing "Upgrade Required" in AutoUpdate
In this article, I will discuss the workaround to Fix Microsoft Office Showing “Upgrade Required” in AutoUpdate. Recently, the support for Office 2019 for Mac ended on October 10, 2023. Yes, the Office 2019 apps were all working correctly and no data lost. Even with this assurance, you could expose yourself to serious and potentially security risks if you do not upgrade to Office 2021. Also, see…

Hi hello
How do I get ride of copilot on my laptop?
If it is popping up in Microsoft Word:
Open Files, click on Options at the bottom.
Copilot now appears under the list of options. Click on it, uncheck the Enable box
It will still appear grayed out on your ribbon. Right-click, choose "customize your ribbon," look for "Assistance" under the Home tab, remove Copilot (or the Assistance option in general, frankly).
You will also have to do this for Excel and other apps, but I can confirm it's doable. Microsoft will likely very annoyingly ask you to sign out and sign in or restart your computer. This has taken me at last three times to get to work finally.
If it is appearing on your computer:
Open Settings, click on Apps, click on "Installed Apps"
You should be able to find an uninstall Copilot from there
If Microsoft does a major update, you will probably have to repeat the above steps. Turn off auto-updates to avoid this issue.
Currently you can switch to the Classic version of Office that does not have Copilot, however - also annoyingly - you won't be able to immediately switch until your current subscription is over. You can, however, switch back to earlier versions of Microsoft that does not include Copilot by following these steps.
#AI Bullshit#Tech Nightmare#as much as everyone should switch to other problems#Office is industry-standard for a lot of publishing#we gotta use it in many cases :\

5 Days of Helping You Outline Your Next Novel
Day 5: Obsidian for Outlining
Find all 5 installments of the mini series: helping you outline your next novel
*I have added a layer of “static” over my screenshots so they are distinctive enough to stand apart from the surrounding text
did you miss this series? here you can find all posts here: [day 1] [day 2] [day 3] [day 4]
Do you use Obsidian?
What is Obsidian?
A note-taking and knowledge management tool that allows you to create and connect notes seamlessly.

Uses a local-first approach, meaning your data is stored on your computer, not the cloud (unless you choose to sync).
Features bidirectional linking, which helps create a non-linear, networked way of organizing ideas—great for brainstorming and outlining.
Why should you use Obsidian?
Flexible & Customizable – Unlike rigid writing apps, you can design your own workflow.
Distraction-Free Writing – Markdown keeps the focus on text without extra formatting distractions.
Ideal for Outlining & Organization – Connect story ideas, characters, and settings effortlessly.
Obsidian for Writing
Outlining
Creating a One Pager
Create a single markdown note for a high-level novel summary.
Use headings and bullet points for clarity.
Link to related notes (e.g., character pages, theme exploration).
Here’s an example of an outline I’m currently using. This is what my website will have on it (and what goals I hope to achieve w my website)

Using the Native Canvas Tool
Use Obsidian’s native Canvas tool to visually outline your novel. (Best on PC)
Create a board with columns for Acts, Chapters, or Story Beats.
Drag and drop cards as the story evolves.
Writing
Why Write Directly in Obsidian?
Minimalist interface reduces distractions.
Markdown-based formatting keeps the focus on words.
No auto-formatting issues (compared to Word or Google Docs).
Why is Obsidian Great for Writing?
Customizable workspace (plugins for word count, timers, and focus mode).
Easy to link notes (e.g., instantly reference past chapters or research).
Dark mode & themes for an optimal writing environment.
Organization in Obsidian
Outlining, Tags, Links
Each chapter, character, important item, and setting can have its own linked note.
Below, for example, you can see the purple text is a linked page directly in my outline.

Use bidirectional linking to create relationships between (story) elements. Clicking these links will automatically open the next page.
Tags can be used for important characters, items, places, or events that happen in your writing. Especially useful for tracking.
Folders for Efficient Storage
Organize notes into folders for Acts, Characters, Worldbuilding, and Drafts.
Use tags and backlinks for quick navigation.
Creating a separate folder for the actual writing and linking next (chapter) and previous (chapter) at the bottom for smooth navigation.
You can also create and reuse your own internal templates!
Spiderweb Map Feature (Graph View)
Visualize connections between characters, plot points, and themes. Below you’ll see the basic mapping of my website development project.

This view can help you spot disconnected (floating) ideas and create bridges to them.
Exporting
Why Export?
Ready to format in another program (Scrivener, Word, Docs, Vellum, etc).
Need a clean version (removing tags, notes, etc) for beta readers or editors.
Creating a backup copy of your work.
When should you export?
Personally, I like to export every 5 chapters or so and update my live version on Google Docs. This allows my family, friends, and beta readers to access my edited work.
After finishing a draft or major revision.
Before sending to an editor or formatting for publication.
Where should you export?
Personally I copy and paste my content from each chapter into a google doc for editing. You may also want to make note of the following export options:
Markdown to Word (.docx) – For editing or submitting.
Markdown to PDF – For quick sharing
Markdown to Scrivener – For those who format in Scrivener.
To Conclude
Obsidian is an invaluable tool for novelists who want a flexible, organized, and distraction-free writing process.
Try setting up your own Obsidian vault for your next novel! Comment below and let me know if this was helpful for you 🫶🏻

Hello there world,
Last time I left off, I was getting cancer tested. Negative, by the way. Phew! Some levels of blah blah blah medical things that were causing the symptoms that made us suspect some skin cancer were still getting worse, so I started some medications. And, wow, did those do a number on my psyche and other physical conditions and quickly.
As I knew I was not in a place to be online, I quickly logged out and removed the passwords. Because I was not a person to be around for the last few months. Now, those medications have mostly left my system and I’m now on a better regime. Because while it was nice not to have those symptoms, I wasn’t all there to enjoy those lack of symptoms, either sleeping or in a vicious mood. I couldn’t even write fanfiction! But I’m managing on some medications that give me the most realistic middle ground.
So, when fanfiction? Updates?
I am taking some classes over summer (failed two semesters of classes in a row) and working on those will take a lot of time. But fret not, as while I’ve been re-reading through (and self-critiquing) my fanfictions, I rediscovered the drive for it. While it is only at maximum a few hundred words over the last week, I can feel myself getting back into it and remembering the little tails of plot and ideas I kept inside my brain. And others that I forgot and might need to wrap up those loose ends.
And, of course, trying to get back into my accounts. I wrote the passwords down. I know I did. But the stuff I wrote them down on is in storage and it isn’t well organised (besides Tumblr, thank you auto-saved passwords on an old browser I don’t use anymore). RIP my discord and AO3 for the moment, but I am hoping to at least have access in the next week (though my classes will depend on how active I will be). So if you know me on either of those… have a lookout!
It’s good getting back into things I enjoy instead of just coasting along. I’m trying to manage things but as always, trial and error. Many, many errors. Getting to create again has improved things a lot, even at the low quality and quantity I’m doing.
May the AO3 curse evade you,
-Pen

Ignoring the fact that ibis had the ai paint feature a couple years before this whole ai fiasco, after seeing your post, I decided to try it out to see if it really held up. I already knew what you said made no sense, as even stuff like ai painting requires heavy human input that isn't just someone typing a prompt in a thing and looking through thousands of images and somehow still calling it 'art'. Really, it's just some weird advanced bucket.
The ibis ai paint... really sucks. I'm pretty sure it hasn't even been touched since it was added. No matter what I did, I got random colours and whatever colours I had put there looked like it were from a filter, not to mention how my lineart bled everywhere like it was blurred out.
Ibis isn't problematic for adding that feature as not only was it added ages ago, but it was also just a gimmick only added because a few more popular paid programs added them, like Clip Studio Paint. I highly doubt even the company took it seriously considering how poorly built it is. This is actually the one time I'm glad some feature in an app sucks so much.
Another reason why ibis isn't problematic by the mere feature alone is that, when you look at the artists making content during the time of that update, it was received with humour. It was something fun to try, but ultimately dismissed for actual artwork, as nobody would use it to fully paint their works. Nowadays we see something slapped with the words 'ai' and think that it's instantly bad due to the latest issues with it and big corperations/ certain production companies but it isn't. It's just a lot of people abusing what was previously some fun gimmick, which it can still be, and for certain apps, still is. Nobody throws pitchforks at character ai, after all.
You can tell just by the size of this that I'm procrastinating on something. Ima go and let this rot away in your askbox now lol
You really thought this would fade away in my ask box, mwahahaha /j
I wanna start off by saying thank you for holding me accountable, I will admit that I got buzzworded pretty hard in this situation lmao
This information came as a surprise to me-- I was seeing posts pop up within the past week complaining about the ai feature on ibis, so I assumed it was recent. As it turns out, after reading your ask, I discovered that I got a few wires crossed! Because yes, the auto paint feature I referred to in my post has been around for years now, and was never taken seriously anyways

So that was my bad (and yea ur right it's completely unusable, lmao)
But as it turns out, the feature that people have been complaining about DID come out recently. It was called the AI Example feature, I think the idea was that you make a simple drawing and the AI adds 99% of the detail and color, which I've seen a bunch of other programs do.
...and then it was immediately removed due to some pretty major backlash, which, duh

^ This is the only evidence I can find of the 11.2.0 update that included the AI feature on the actual site; their update history stops at 11.1.0. But there's also the news page about the removal of the update, so it's not like they're trying to pretend it never happened.

So tl;dr, I jumped on the hate train a little too quickly and never did enough research to figure out what the actual update was, and that it's been removed by now anyway (which I couldn't have known until today, ofc, but i did kinda post that thing about ibis today so it's still a pretty major oopsie)
I think I can say with confidence now that I agree, ibis paint isn't problematic to use-- they made a mistake with this update, but they actually listened to their users and removed it LITERALLY the next day. So, thanks for letting me know! I'll also edit my last post to prevent any misinformation, just in case people make the same mistake I did :]
#its a big relief that i dont have to learn how to use an entirely new art program anyway#so this ask came as a pleasant surprise#asks open#ibispaintx#now i just gotta hope i didnt get anything else wrong about the update

Silent Hill 2 commentary: Opening & Eastern South Vale (3)
youtube
Notes below start at 43:26.
PREVIOUSLY ON: We get to the cemetery, meet Angela, pick up New Game+ items, and squint at a church door.
Check the first post for full spoiler policy ("anything but the big reveal") and content notes. I'll put content notes specific to this post under the cut.
Content warnings: Blood and body horror in the combat, with a discussion of the enemy design. Discussion of suicidal ideation as a theme. Discussion of verbal abuse, slight allusion to child abuse.
43:26: A(nother) billboard for Pete’s Bowl-o-Rama, a fan-favorite location. I’ll take us there once we’ve met up with Maria.
43:40: The auto shop, which serves as a tutorial for basic concepts.
44:55: I look for a legible calendar, wondering what year Silent Hill “stopped being a town.” We do actually see 1982 and 1983 later on, but it may also be that Silent Hill is a thriving town in another dimension, and maybe people who come to Silent Hill for psychological reasons are in ghost-town dreamworlds. I think that Silent Hill 2 doesn’t give you “answers”; it gives you the tools to build your own interpretations.
45:40: Our first Glimpse of the Past, Bloober Team’s effort to put in homages (I mangle two different pronunciations of this word together in my nervousness. I was a French/Spanish double major and I'll never recover from this) to what they’ve changed or removed from the original game. This one is the original location where you find the radio, your first monster, and your first weapon. Here's a Dan Allen Gaming video comparing the Glimpses to the scenes they’re referencing, so you can see that.
All images are ©2024 Konami Digital Entertainment, and captured from my gameplay in January-February 2025.
47:30: Here’s the car where you get the Key of Sorrow for the “Stillness” ending (my favorite). You have to have the chainsaw for this, because otherwise, you don’t yet have a weapon to break the window. The key isn’t there for me because I haven’t gotten the prerequisite “In Water” ending yet. You can see Ian get the key on his stream.
49:26: You reach town (Achievement: “Enjoy Your Stay”) and get the map of South Vale. The musical cue there sounds very Twin Peaks to me.
49:50: You see on the map that we came in on Wiltse Road. You need to remember this for a quiz (there will be a quiz) a million hours from now. All the streets in town are named for authors (per Lost Memories: Silent Hill Chronicle), and this one is named for David Wiltse, who wrote a book called Home Again. I don’t have any plot details, but the title makes me think of Mary as the person who was “home” to James, and we'll see a record titled "The Long Way Home" in the second commentary video.
50:58: The flower shop. I have a lot to say about this, and these are both kind of pet themes for me:
1) There's a flower motif throughout the game, including paintings, fabric prints, and actual plants. Florals in general represent Mary; white flowers represent Mary, and red flowers represent Maria, as in the “Ms. Cassondra” note (which I mispronounce) here. “Red and white flowers together are unlucky” may be Cult Stuff (update: it's Cult Stuff), but IMO it’s mainly the idea that Mary and Maria are not... compatible realities. I wasn’t sure if it was a Japanese (Team Silent) or Polish (Bloober Team) superstition, but I haven’t found anything to that effect.
2) One of the reasons I wanted to discuss spoilers up front is that I wanted to bring forward Mary’s monologue from the end and discuss how “I was so angry” changes what little you've seen about her up to that point (saintly dead wife, Madonna figures on literal pedestals), and yet it’s woven throughout the imagery of the game before that (anger management posters that may reflect her, not just James; the roar stun that monsters have representing verbal abuse). And in a flashback, she says, “I don’t want any damn flowers,” the flowers that James tried to bring her. The flower shop itself and ads for it appear throughout James’ version of Silent Hill because that specifically hurt James, I think.
54:06: We run across a giant insect, a “creeper” originating in the first Silent Hill game (this is Ian’s lane). James, who generally pulls out his melee weapon when enemies are nearby, goes into the Texas Chainsaw Massacre-inspired animation from the original game. I start yelling at him to be civilized.
54:24: “What is this?” The blood trail that will lead you to the combat tutorial. Everyone mocks James for not figuring out that it’s blood, but I’m just saying, it looks nasty and it might be more than just blood.
56:57: Following the trail, we see our first Lying Figure. James naively calls after it. I can’t defend him on this one.
57:25: Lindsey Street was named for author David Lindsay. I’ll stop citing Wikipedia when it stops being well-sourced and concise (emphasis mine):
“A Voyage to Arcturus has been described as the major 'underground' novel of the 20th century. The secret of Lindsay's apparent originality as a novelist lies in his metaphysical assumptions. Like the gnostics he seems to have viewed the "real" world as an illusion, which must be rejected in order to perceive genuine "truth".”
But also, The Haunted Woman:
“There Isabel discovers a strange staircase few can see, which leads upwards to three doors. She chooses one, which opens onto a room that appears to exist only part of the time; what might lie behind the other doors remains a mystery. In the room she reencounters [the owner of the house]. There they find new insights and are able to express themselves in new ways, but are unable to recall what has transpired there when they leave. They develop a disturbing parallel relationship in the mysterious room....”
This may resonate with Maria as a parallel Mary in an unreal world.
58:50: Then we take a detour to Vachss Road, so I can get the “Do Not Enter” Glimpse of the Past. Did not mention: per Lost Memories: Silent Hill Chronicle, this is named after Andrew Vachss, author of the hard-boiled Burke mystery novels, but also an attorney/social worker/advocate for abused children. As such, this may have relevance to Angela’s back story.
1:00:00: We return to the blood trail and find the alley leading to the combat tutorial. Discussion of the fact that traversals are marked with white cloth... like half of Silent Hill. People also mock James for crawling into a derelict garage, but I want to point out that 1) he throws all caution/reason to the wind whenever he thinks he has a chance of finding anything related to Mary, and 2) the only reason he does his is because we make him, and maybe “Ugh” is directed at us.
1:03:27: Save point. Two floral prints in the room: curtains with a red flower print (Mary, but possibly Maria?), and a blue-flowered bed sheet that I am pretty sure comes from James and Mary’s house—I’ll leave it at that. Also: (presumably) Mary’s time of death (9:10 and 15 seconds) is on every single clock in the game. Trust me, I looked.
1:04:50: A tutorial to find a health drink (30% heal?), and also disappointment in an empty cabinet.
1:06:00: Combat tutorial with a lying figure. There’s projectile acid vomit (“AH, GODDAMMIT”) and pooling blood, as well as body horror: the lying figure design incorporates a body bag, a straitjacket, corset lacing, platform shoes, and creature designer Masahiro Ito seeing a coworker shamble down the hall in a hoodie.
Did not mention: the vomit attacks were not meant to represent Mary’s cough or any kind of chemotherapy side effects, but Masahiro Ito likes that interpretation.
I refer to the shoes as “stripper heels” (I did realize afterwards that those usually have a separated heel) because we will end up at a literal strip club later in the game; the game implies that James has been to similar clubs and may have lost his wedding ring at one, and so this may be why these deeply out-of-place shoes turn up on some of the monsters that confront him. James seems to have a thing for legs in particular.
I say more about this in the second video, but I feel like both the lying figures and the mannequins (which are two pairs of legs that punch you in the face) are aggressive manifestations of that, as if to say, “Oh, you like this? Fantasizing about other women’s legs while your wife is sick? HOW YOU LIKE IT NOW??” I don’t consider having these monsters as our enemies to be rank misogyny so much as aspects of this man’s fantasies coming to life in a very hostile way—a subversion of them. But I also remark now and then, I don’t like being a person who constantly beats these things to a pulp—but I'm also having to defend myself. This is survival horror, and that’s kind of how it works. Your mileage may vary.
(As I was rewatching the commentary, I did realize that the shoes kind of remind me of “those are his hooves you bitch.”)
Did not mention: this Takayoshi Sato (character designer/CGI director) quote about sex and death combined, which says to me that the monsters’ fetish quality was not necessarily indicative of James’ fixations:
"Psychological horror has to shake human's heart deeply. Shaking people's heart deeply means uncover people's core emotion and their core motivation for life. Everybody is thinking and concerning about sex and death. Everything. If we want to scare, shake, or touch the users or spectators, then we have to think about sex and death deeply. To make like a death scene, somebody died or monsters died, we tried to mix erotic essence. This is kind of a visual and a core concept."
I’m not saying it’s an ace-friendly approach, but that was Team Silent's vision that Bloober Team has carried forward.
1:07:36: Genuinely, James says “It’s not human” (so he doesn’t have to feel bad about killing it) because there is an actual achievement (“A Human Being”) the first time you kill a human nemesis. It’s a thing. Did not mention: I’ve always thought it was interesting that movies and games will feature hordes of dehumanized enemies (zombies, monsters, orcs, robots, clones, masked henchmen, etc.) so the heroes can mow them down and we don’t think less of them for it. Explicitly being told that James is killing things that “aren’t human” allows us to beat and shoot hundreds of enemies to death in a game partly about the morality of killing without feeling bad about it.
1:09:00: We get our first syringe (100% heal). Discussion of the oscillating fan in the corner, and how fans represent cycles and repetition. You will see them a lot, sometimes very large and obviously symbolic ones. It's also the color of James' car, a color that frequently turns up on objects/locations I think are from his subconscious.
1:10:34: Mary’s voice on the radio. The subtitles may give something away. See Ian’s stream for a full-spoiler discussion of what she says.
1:11:30: A Glimpse of the Past just outside the fence. In the original game, James sees a body that looks a lot like him. Discussion of time loop theory (which I love), and how Bloober Team ran with this concept and put dead bodies with the James model throughout the game. You can even think of them as the times James dies when we play. What this means is that we put James through the time loop—the repetition of this roughly 24-hour period of confronting all kinds of horrors and also himself—every time we play this game. See also:
Dan Allen Gaming: Silent Hill 2 Remake - Is James Stuck in a Time Loop?
Nubzombie: Let's Talk About Silent Hill 2 Loop Theory
1:13:13: The Bible verse allusion on the license plate: Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” And there's the Car Color again. Did not mention: It took me almost a week to realize that "rest" may refer to the healing drink we find right above it.
1:14:30: We find the body of a James who clearly had a bad day: features are unrecognizable, but you can see that it’s his jacket and boots. Discussion of alternatives to time loop theory: there’s a later scene with Eddie (this is what I allude to and stop myself, just because it was too much to get into) where there are bodies around the room of people Eddie presumably killed, and they all look like James. Because James can’t see Eddie’s version of Silent Hill (Silent Hill seems tailored to each person), it may be that James’ mind simply pasted himself onto people who are personal to Eddie, but James can’t see. In that vein, that may be why James sees himself in all the bodies throughout the game—are they maybe even other visitors who didn’t survive?
Alternately, and I have to credit Ian for bringing this up: there are two endings where James does choose to end his own life, and there are subtle suggestions throughout the game either that James wants to die, or that exhort him to not give up. It may just be that James seeing himself dead all throughout town is suicidal ideation.
So, if you don’t like the time loop theory, there are alternative interpretations. I do, however.
1:16:20: We also pick up a note that ends in “Sometimes you have to look behind.” Discussion of Orpheus and Eurydice. You can read this as, “Sometimes, you just have to look behind,” you should look back on your past, and to the truth that James can’t admit (again, this is the big spoiler). But you can also read it as, “Sometimes, you just have to look behind,” you shouldn’t look back, but sometimes you just have to, like Orpheus turning to look at Eurydice and losing her. In some of these endings, “looking back” and accepting the truth means that James comes to understand that Mary is not coming back, and he loses her for good. This sounds like a nice headcanon on my part, sure, but there’s one more thing later that makes me think I’m not just making this up. Remind me when we get to Rosewater Park if I don’t mention it there.
Addendum: Ian has since emailed me with the revelation that the filmmakers of the upcoming movie adaptation, about which I have very mixed feelings but that’s a discussion for another time, have said they are really into an “Orpheus and Eurydice” interpretation, so I was apparently onto something here.
1:18:15: Martin Street save point; I didn’t mention that it’s named for the author David Martin because I couldn’t figure out which David Martin this referred to.
The “LEM3232” license plate Bible verse, as discussed at Silent Hill Heaven:
This presumably refers to King Lemuel, whose sayings are listed in the book of Proverbs. However, there is no chapter 32 in Proverbs. It could also be a typo and meant to be LAM, or Lamentations. Unfortunately it, too, lacks 32 chapters. Lamentations 3:23 reads: Although he causes grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love.
I would say this reasoning is far-fetched, except that it fits really well.
Next post: Tons of locations in town itself, Pyramid Head's Great Knife, and additions/corrections.

hiii new reader here! I'm loving your neighborhood watch au :) I have a question though, what's up with all the hidden fics if you don't mind answering?
Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'm hoping to post more for that AU during 2025; working on the buffer this winter :) Next up should be "Goodchild Oscar," which I started a long time ago and have been itching to share. I love NW AU so much...
And good question! My hidden fics are in an unrevealed collection called Riddle WIPs:
Hidden works are my drafts, but in a way that prevents them from being auto-deleted by AO3 after 30 days (i.e. the way AO3's actual draft feature does).
Keeping my works in this unrevealed collection lets me see everything, organize everything, link them to other works, prep my tags in advance, and do my color-coding HTML in advance (for works that use the green/yellow/red name system for life colors). Multi-chapter works also get their spoiler dropdown boxes in advance too.
This is a lifesaver when working with series. I have my works in multiple series, and every time you add one of those (or an inspired work), you have to save/post to refresh the page before you can add another. People who subscribe to a series (as opposed to the story or author) get the notification after a work is posted. I like to make sure my work has all the series attached to it upfront, not just one. It's nice to feel like I have plenty of time to do everything I want for prep purposes without stressing about a 30-day timer.
In short, it's a LOT easier to stick to a weekly upload schedule if all the work on the AO3 side is done in advance and all I need to do is slap the chapter in and post. Here's a draft I prepped last night, for instance:
/slaps his little head - This work can fit SO much body text when I'm done.
On posting night, all I have to do is add the text, change the update date to the day I post, remove it from the unrevealed collection, and presto! People subscribed to any of those series (or to me as an author) get the notifications :) Huge time-saver that lets me keep my regular update schedule.
If you check that publish date, you can see I actually made this draft in April. I just did the tags and cover art for it last night, as I'd like to get this work posted very soon. It takes me a while to get around to each individual project, but at least I always know where to find them and I can do the parts I have energy for when I have free time.
I just made a spreadsheet this week that links all my docs and AO3 works, so I am living large...
Another reason I do this is because I often have limited Internet access, but I do have offline access to my writing docs. I have a lot of back-and-forth time on the road, and sometimes I finish my writing when I'm away from home. It's so nice to prep the AO3 side in advance while I have a stable Internet connection and mouse instead of doing all that on the trackpad.
[cnt'd - Long post]
Back when I started doing this with hidden works, it was mostly because AO3 had a bug where every time you rearranged a series, you had to manually edit every single work that came after it if you wanted the Previous and Next links to work properly.
And I did. Every time I posted. Because that's how I am. I write a series titled 130 Reasons Why I'm Fairy Trash, which used to be arranged chronologically before I went through and changed them to recommended reading order, and there are 130 one-shots in it. I have tasted so much pain...
In other words, the series feature was great for people posting new works that come "next" in the series, but it wasn't working well for people who like to rearrange the order when they post something new. Ex: I have both the Pixels Imperfect and Neighborhood Watch series in chronological order. Using the unrevealed works, I took the time to arrange all the hidden works in advance so that the timeline was properly arranged regardless of what order I submitted fics in. This way, I only had to dedicate a couple days to getting all my current WIPs prepped and arranged, with the hope being that my links would work properly for a long time before I wrote a new work and had to find a place for it. I have never written a series chronologically in my life and I think it would kill my motivation if I forced myself to do that, honestly.
I'm pretty sure this rearrangement bug was there since I joined AO3 in 2018. Guess what they fixed while I was in the middle of adding all my drafts and arranging them all :'D
This is the best bug fix ever; my crops are watered daily and my skin is clean. I live in constant fear this bug will return and I will once again be relegated to spending hours of an evening painstakingly updating every work that comes later in a series... instead of the 2 seconds it takes to place a work now.
Bonus reason why I like the hidden work feature: I have thousands of documents after my 13+ years of posting fanfics and writing original works, many of which are no longer as up-to-date as posted versions that received minor revisions over the years (like spelling fixes).
It's super nice to have a place on AO3 to keep backups where I can easily find them and not mix them up with my outdated files (which I should clean out, but hesitate to do so because it would take me days).
I do have downloaded backups of all my works as well (Bless FicLab). Went through and did a sweep last month! I will not lose over a decade of my life... I bought a flash drive necklace to slap them on, so they will literally have to pry this stuff from my cold, dead hands.
FFN went down for a week earlier this year and I had a few works that were exclusively on FFN, not yet on AO3, so I was very quick to slap those into my WIPs collection as soon as I could, haha... One of those is 30k words. Yep. Not losing that.
I really wish AO3 would let people use Previous and Next to navigate through a hidden work because it's very obnoxious for me and others who want to click through the series and then we slam into a hidden work, but c'est la vie.
I fear the bug's return with my life, and for this, everyone must click extra times to navigate around the wall.
Fun bonus screenshots of what I see on my end even though these works are hidden for you guys:
Pixels Imperfect #2, baby! ... The first wall you hit if you're trying to read the series by clicking "Next," haha... Oh no.
And some Neighborhood Watch:
The story beats are there! I'm just not yet... but it's a much bigger decision to drop a WIP if you're already "halfway there" because you've got the prep work done. Some people may not want to put that "pressure" on themselves, but I don't mind it. I like seeing the works yet to come so they remind me of how excited I am to get there. They just seem so close...
I'm easing into a hiatus from posting fanfics this winter so I can build my 'fic buffers and post a few one-shots I've had sitting around. Fingers crossed that 2025 will have a lot of NW content. I'm very excited for it and I'm glad you're looking forward to it too!
-> I am so glad NW is only the first 5 Life seasons in the same timeline, because if I had to work Wild Life's mechanics into the worldbuilding, that would be a rough one...
My late-2025 is set up to be extremely busy IRL and the next couple years are sure to be as well, so I'm putting my all into prepping buffers right now. This'll be a lifesaver for me down the road.

Woo! First posting and it's basically porn lmao 😂 i have a while ass plot dedicated to this oc and working on the design but I couldn't help myself making this
Words : 1300~
Warnings : ratchet is in good mood (my cover up for anything that might be ooc lmao), vibrator used, genitals aren't mentioned, you could read this as an x reader, my grammar is probably horrid
*They are in established relationship they had there sappy omg I thought you were dead but now I know that I need to tell you I love you spiel*
*Pov of oc who, is a bot of sorts, is but I use human terms cause they aren't a cybrotronian*
“Please Ratchet I really want to have a nap with you! Naps with you are the best. And we both know that you need rest as well, plus you always love taking naps with me!” I begged. Try to use the puppy dog eyes but it looks more like sad pouting. Which is close, I guess.
“No, and no I don’t. We both know that I have lots of work to-do.” coldly stated Ratchet.
Hmph.
“Then at least let me help we both know I’m more than capable.” I stood with both hands on my hips.
There is a pause of compilation from Ratchet then a small smile. Uh oh. I know that smile this is going to be an interesting day for sure.
“Under one condition.” Ratchet starts. “Get the ‘equipment’ that I helped you make” He smirks.
My engine revved a bit at the boldness of Ratchet. But there was little hesitation from me moving towards my ‘room’ that was an old office when the silo belonged to the humans before the auto bots made it their base.
It was not long before I came back to Ratchet who was still working on his synth energon formula and a few other projects of his.
“Why did you want me to get this? Hm?” I coyly stated. My hands held behind my back.
“You have such confidence in your ability to help I would like to give you a challenge.” Ratchet had turned around and had something in his hand. A bullet vibrator. Oh, ho ho this is a ‘challenge’ that I am so excited for. He hands me the vibrator. With it in my hand I look at him questionably.
“Put in it you, you want attention? Ill give you some while you help and if you do good enough, I’ll reward you, latter tonight.” Firmly states Ratchet.
“You seem to be in a good mood. You enjoy this proposition, don’t you?” I smirk. His vents kick up a bit betraying his straight face. “Hehehe it’s nice to see you feeling better, I’m more than willing to accept your challenge.” I walked towards my room. He grabbed my shoulder.
“Wish to see you put it in.” a pause and a stammer “uh to make sure you actually put it in.” he looks shy fully to the side.
“Of course.” He picked me up and I squeaked.
“You still aren’t used to being so small in comparison are you hm?” He almost smiles.
“No, I think that it’ll be a while before I am.” I bashfully state while removing the cover plating to put the device inside. My legs are on either side of his palm. He leaned slightly closer while I put in the vibrator. A 3d rendering is plastered on my screen I can see and feel the device enter and settle in a spot. Once inside I place my cover back on and minimize the rendering, but it stays in the back of my processor continuously updating the rendering.
“Alright what would you like me – heeii! – Rachet! ~” he cuts me off by turning the vibrator on low then turning it off almost immediately.
“What you like me to do, doctor?” I restate regaining my self-control. I know he doesn’t particularly like the title, but his vents kicked up a notched. A smirk landed on my face.
“Well doctor~ what is it you need?” I said the title with a bit more flirting tone.
“I uhm I need a few data pads from my berthroom that have notes.” He stutters then centers himself.
“Due to my size, I’ll only be able to grab a few at a time, just so you know.” I state as I walk towards his room. The only response was a smirk.
As I arrive, I notice the massive pile on his desk that is about a foot or so above my head. I looked around to find a box to climb on to get to the pads. As I was looking for said box the rendering shifted, and anticipation crept inside me. I took a physical metaphorical breath to center myself.
‘Aha! A box!’ I move the box that is the size of me towards the desk. I climb on the box. A shift in the device. A low groan falls from me. I stand still to recenter myself again. I climbed on the table ‘finally’. I start moving the pads down onto the box. As I let the last one down, the vibrator turns on to what I would guess as medium strength. More intense than the last one, at least. A moan rips through my throat before I can stop it. My knees buckle little and small whimpers leave me as I try my best to recenter myself at the new sensation. It takes a few ‘breathes’.
I climbed all the way down to the floor. There was a total of 10 pads.
‘I’ll only be able to reasonably carry two at a time don’t want to push myself when in this situation, five trips it is then.’ I carried two pads back towards Ratchet’s station. They were like the large print book I had as a kid, they were just larger than my torso, slightly awkward to hold but manageable.
“Ratchet! I’ve got your first delivery!” I giggled to myself at the silliness of my statement.
Ratchet just rolls his optics at my antics.
“About time what took you so long?” he questioned.
‘You know damn well why.’ “I had to find a box to climb on to, to get to the table.” I say instead of what I wanted to say.
He grabs the pads from you and smirks. “Of course, I sometimes forget that you are so much smaller than me.”
“No, you don’t, you never fail to mention it when you pick me up.” I say before I could stop myself. As soon as it was out of my mouth the vibrator picked up a notch. My eyes widen slightly at this. I had somewhat forgotten that that was there. Having it processing in the back of my mind to try and focus.
I was determined to show a straight face.
“Ill go and get the rest of the pads.” I state and walk away before he could bump it up another notch. There was a slight flux of the vibration as I was walking away. There wasn’t much talking as I grabbed and gave the data pads. Expect each time, he grabbed them from my hands he bumped the vibrations a notch higher. I guess that wasn’t medium at the start. It was harder and harder to walk straight and hold in my moans but damn it if I didn’t try my hardest.
The last straw of my composure was as I delivered the last set of data pads. As he bumped it up again. I couldn’t stop the moan that left me and the buckle of my knees to the floor. On my knees I panted as I started melting in the pleasure of the vibrations.
“Ratchet please I did as you asked, please.” I begged.
“What is it you would like?” He asked.
I looked around to really make sure we were in fact alone in the base. It was late at night and most everyone was asleep.
An almost whisper “your spike.” My engine rumbled in embarrassment.
“I couldn’t hear you could you repeat that?” He asked if I wasn’t sure if he was being sarcastic or legit.
“Your spike, Ratchet, I want it.” I said a bit louder and more confidently.
He chuckles. “As your reward, little one.” He gentle scooped me up off the floor and walked toward his berthroom.

Please also make sure to check your Microsoft 365 subscription. They will automatically renew you with a more expensive Copilot-enabled plan unless you opt-out. Information on how to opt out is here and also copied below: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/remove-copilot-from-word/c46d62d3-7eda-4472-85f4-46f961642b36?correlationid=1f0294b6-e885-4561-9d09-646af909733d&from=ContactUsWebBCQR If you prefer to use Microsoft 365 apps without Copilot at all. Please refer to the following to try to switch back to your old subscription.
Visit account.microsoft.com/services.
Select the Microsoft 365 Personal subscription you have and select “Manage”.
Select “Unsubscribe”.
View “Switch to a subscription that suits you better” and select “Microsoft 365 Personal /Family Classic”.
After following the instructions to complete your subscription. Your subscription will automatically renew to Classic when its existing subscription expires.
However, the above method is for switching your subscription to Classic and you will not be renewing your subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal with Copilot, but since the update to the Microsoft 365 app has already been completed, you may not see the changes to the features and interface in 365 right away.
We recommend that you restore your Microsoft 365 version to a earlier version, see the following:
Restore your version of Office
Close all Office software, in the "Start Menu", find "Command Prompt" (or "cmd"), right-click and select "Run as administrator" ;
At the command prompt, type the following command and press Enter:
cd %programfiles% \Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun
Then enter the following and press Enter
Officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.17531.20120
This will bring Office back to a stable version in February 2024.
If the above steps are successful, you'll be able to view Office version 17531.20120 under File -> Account -> Product Information. If another version is displayed here, it means that some of the steps were not executed successfully, please refer to the previous method and try again.
After restoring, open any Office application, such as Word, click File -> account. On the right side, check the "Microsoft 365 and Office Updates" heading , click the "Update Options" button, and select the "Disable Updates" option to disable the auto-update feature.
Please consider turning on automatic updates again after successfully switching to Classic to avoid updating again to a new version with Copilot.
It is with the deepest frustrations that I must report Microsoft has pushed out Copilot onto Microsoft Word no matter what your previous settings were. If you have Office because you paid for it/are on a family plan/have a work/school account, you can disable it by going to Options -> click on Copilot -> uncheck 'Enable Copilot'.
(Note, you may not see this option if you haven't updated lately, but Copilot will still pop up. Updating should give you this option. I will kill Microsoft with my bare hands.)
In addition, Google has forced a roll-out of it's Gemini AI on all American accounts of users over 18 (these settings are turned off by default for EU, Japan, Switzerland, and UK, but it doesn't hurt to check).
To remove this garbage, you must go to Manage Workspace smart feature settings for all your Gmail/Drive/Chat and turn them off. Go to Settings -> See all settings -> find under "Genera" the "Google Workspace smart features" -> turn smart feature setting off for both Google Workspace and all other Google products and hit save. (If you turned off the smart settings in your Gmail, it never hurts to open Drive and double-check that they're set to off there too.)
Quick Edit: I found the easiest way to get to the Smart Feature settings following the instructions above was to do it through Drive. Try that route first.
Now is the time to consider switching to Libre Office if you haven't already.

Safe & Reliable Auto Shipping Services
Moving vehicles across states or the country can be a complex process, especially when time, security, and cost-efficiency matter. Whether you're an active-duty military member preparing for a permanent change of station or a business managing logistics for a fleet of commercial vehicles, reliable car shipping services make all the difference. Selecting the right auto transport partner ensures peace of mind, safety, and timely delivery.
Stress-Free Relocation for Military Members
Military families often face frequent relocations, sometimes on short notice. In such cases, handling the transportation of a personal vehicle becomes an added challenge. Fortunately, car transport for military members is a specialized service designed to accommodate the unique needs of active-duty personnel.
These services often include door-to-door delivery, flexible scheduling, and secure transport options that align with military timelines. Unlike traditional shipping options, military-focused auto transport providers understand the importance of punctuality and confidentiality. The use of open or enclosed carriers allows flexibility depending on vehicle type and the level of protection required.
Another benefit of choosing a military car shipping service is potential cost savings. Many auto transport companies offer discounts or tailored pricing structures for military personnel, ensuring an affordable experience without compromising on quality.
Business Efficiency Through Vehicle Transport
For companies that manage large fleets, commercial vehicle transport is not just about moving vehicles — it’s about maintaining operational efficiency. Whether you're transporting work trucks, vans, or specialized service vehicles, delays or mishandling can severely impact business performance.
Professional auto carriers that specialize in commercial vehicle transport provide solutions tailored for industries like construction, delivery, landscaping, and equipment leasing. These services often include GPS tracking, expedited delivery options, and volume-based pricing.
By using an experienced vehicle transport company, businesses can minimize downtime, prevent wear and tear from long-distance driving, and ensure that vehicles arrive in top condition. A good transport partner will also handle necessary permits, compliance requirements, and insurance, removing unnecessary administrative burden from your team.
What to Expect from a Trusted Auto Transporter
Whether for military or business purposes, a dependable auto transporter will offer clear communication, transparent pricing, and excellent customer support. You should expect real-time updates during transit, vehicle condition reports, and a dedicated point of contact.
Additionally, it’s important to verify the company’s insurance coverage and licensing before committing to a service. Ensuring your chosen provider is FMCSA-registered is a good step toward guaranteeing reliability and professionalism.
Comparing Transport Options
Different carriers offer various transport types such as open-air, enclosed, and flatbed trailers. Military members often prefer enclosed carriers for added protection during long hauls, especially when moving valuable or classic cars. Businesses, on the other hand, may opt for open carriers when speed and cost are key considerations.
Choosing the right service depends on factors like vehicle size, destination, delivery urgency, and budget. Always consult with the provider to determine which shipping method aligns best with your specific requirements.
A Final Word on Choosing the Right Provider
Whether you're an active service member or a business owner, trusting your vehicle to the right company can significantly reduce the stress of relocation or transport logistics. The key is finding a service that understands your needs, values your time, and guarantees the safety of your vehicles from pickup to delivery.

How Vehicles Are Transported from Texas To Michigan By Car Shipping Companies
Moving a vehicle from one state to another can sound like a big job. But car shipping companies make it much easier. Every day, they move cars, trucks, SUVs, and even motorcycles across the country. One common route is from Texas to Michigan. This article will explain, in simple words, how vehicles are shipped from Texas To Michigan by car shipping providers.
Step 1: Booking the Car Shipment
The first step is to find auto transport from Texas to Michigan by car shipping companies. Many people search online for a reliable car shipping company. Others may ask friends or family for a recommendation. Once a company is chosen, the customer gives the car shipping company all the important details, like:
The pickup address in Texas
The delivery address in Michigan
The type of vehicle (car, truck, SUV, etc.)
The condition of the vehicle (working or not working)
Preferred dates for pickup and delivery
After this, the customer usually receives a quote, or price, for the shipment. If they agree, they book the service and sign an agreement.
Step 2: Preparing the Vehicle
Before the car is picked up, it must be prepared for shipping. The shipping company usually gives the customer a checklist. Some common steps are:
Remove all personal items from the car
Wash the vehicle so it’s easier to inspect for damage
Take pictures of the car from all angles
Make sure the gas tank is only about one-quarter full
Fix any fluid leaks
Preparing the vehicle makes the shipping process safer and faster. It also protects the owner in case there are any damage claims later.
Step 3: Pickup in Texas
Next, the car shipping company schedules a driver to pick up the vehicle. Drivers use special trucks called carriers. There are two types of carriers:
Open carriers: These are the most common. Cars are loaded onto an open trailer. You might have seen these trucks on the highway carrying new cars.
Enclosed carriers: These trucks have walls and a roof to protect the car from weather and road debris. They are more expensive and are often used for luxury or classic cars.
When the driver arrives, they do a full inspection of the car with the owner or whoever is present. They write down the car’s condition on a form called a "Bill of Lading." Both the driver and the customer sign it.
Step 4: Transport from Texas to Michigan
After pickup, the real journey begins. The driver starts traveling from Texas toward Michigan. The route usually goes through several states, depending on the exact pickup and drop-off locations. Commonly, the trip will pass through states like Oklahoma, Missouri, and Illinois.
Transporting a car from Texas to Michigan usually takes 3 to 6 days, depending on:
Distance (Texas is a big state, so starting from Houston vs. El Paso makes a difference)
Weather conditions
Traffic
Any special requests from the customer (like expedited shipping)
Throughout the trip, the company may offer updates on where the car is. Some companies have GPS tracking so customers can follow their vehicle’s journey.
Step 5: Delivery in Michigan
When the truck reaches Michigan, the driver contacts the customer to schedule the delivery. Sometimes the truck can deliver the car right to the customer's home. Other times, they meet at a nearby location if it’s easier for the big truck to park safely.
Before accepting the car, the customer should inspect it carefully. They should compare the car’s condition to the pictures and notes taken during pickup. If everything looks good, the customer signs the Bill of Lading again and takes possession of the car.
If there is any new damage, the customer should note it immediately on the Bill of Lading and contact the shipping company to start a claim.
